Why you need to go on a Harry Potter tour
You’ve read and re-read the Harry Potter books. You can quote every line from the films and you’ve even knitted yourself a Weasley jumper (or two). Now it’s time to hop on your Nimbus 2000 and head to London to discover the secrets of the wizarding world.
You’ll be in Potterhead heaven as you peek behind the scenes in Diagon Alley, browse the shelves in Ollivanders or get up to mischief in Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes – perhaps even deposit some Galleons at Gringotts Wizarding Bank? Then it’s time to get your chocolate frogs ready as you head for Platform 9 ¾ to see the original Hogwarts Express steam train. Hop on board for some pictures before browsing the collection of hundreds of costumes and props from the movies.
The bravest among you can take a tour of the Forbidden Forest! Usually off limits to Hogwart’s students, there’s a special pass for anyone daring enough to enter the woods…
So, just how long is the Harry Potter tour? Most tours last around 3 – 3.5 hours, though there’s no time limit, so there’s definitely plenty of fun in store. You can ride a broomstick in front of a green screen and watch as you whizz to London, there’s also a chance explore the Great Hall, the setting of so many Hogwarts feasts, and learn about the real magic of the movies – the closely guarded secrets of the special effects. Just don’t forget to try the Butterbeer at the Backlot Café!
