  1. Do children need supervision?
  2. Children between the ages of 4 - 8 years old require supervision on the ice skating rink. Children between the ages of 8 - 16 years old do not require supervision on the ice but will require an adult to supervise from the side of the rink. Children under 4 are not advised to skate.

  3. Do you have skate aids available on the ice rink?
  4. Skate aids are available on the ice rink, including penguin and snowman designs, offered on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a small fee to hire the skate aids for a set period of time (£2.50 for 20 mins). Penguins are for skaters under 1.2m with skates on, and height is measured before use. Snowmen are suitable for those taller than 1.2m. Skate aids cannot be booked in advance.

  5. Skate hire is included within your activity price.
  6. You can bring your own skates - figure skates and hockey skates are allowed. You will still require a relevant activity ticket. The management reserves the right not to allow skates deemed to be unsafe.

  7. Is my child too young to skate?
  8. The minimum recommended age for ice skating is 4, though parents should assess their child’s readiness. Children under 2 cannot skate. Those aged 7 and under require an adult in skates on the ice, while ages 8 to 17 need adult supervision nearby.

  9. Skates are available from child size 7 to adult size 14.
  10. For younger children (child size 6 - 9), a limited number of double-bladed ‘Bob’ skates are available. These fit over the child’s shoes, but shoes may get wet.
