Glasgow's Christmas Markets
The most wonderful time of the year is nearly upon us, and with two Christmas markets in Glasgow, you'll be spoilt for choice! Start your shopping in George Square, which is known as the festive hub of the city, where you will find lots of stalls selling a whole range of gifts and homemade items! Whilst you're there, you might as well make the most of the festive food and drinks and other entertainment. Then finish off the shopping trip with a visit to St Enoch Square. Here, you'll find lots of chalets selling you Christmas decorations, special gifts and German bratwurst and Dutch pancakes. Sounds like a great shopping experience to us! Buchanan Galleries
At the top of Buchanan Street is where you'll find Buchanan Galleries, arguably one of Glasgow's best shopping areas! With around 80 shops spread over four floors, this is the perfect place to make a dent in that Christmas shopping. You'll be provided with plenty of retailers to find those gifts in, including John Lewis, H&M and Next, from fashion and clothing to electricals and personalised gifts, you'll find it here! Once you're done with the shopping, it's time to tuck into something tasty from Burger King, Starbucks or Caffe Nero, and reward yourself for your hard work. We're sure they'll be decked out with amazing festive decorations too!
St Enoch Centre
St Enoch is known for being one of the best places to shop in Glasgow for fun for the whole family! This shopping centre is conveniently located right in the centre of the city, and provides the ultimate shopping, dining and cinema experience, so you're sure to have a great day here. Whether you're looking to cross gifts off the list for your partner, father, kids or friends, you'll find the best gifts for them right here. With shops like H.Samuel, Hamleys, Swarovski, The Body Shop and Yankee Candle, offering all the sparkly and scent-sational presents you could need! There's even a kids play area where you can leave them to play with dad for a bit whilst you go and tick the items off their lists. Don't forget to grab a bite to eat in Scotland's largest food court with options like Blue Lagoon, KFC, Muffin Break, Nandos and Subway, you'll be spoilt for choice!
Princes Square
Princes Square shopping centre offers you some of the best shops in Glasgow, as well as an elegant and entertaining Christmas shopping experience! There's even a beautiful glass roof, so get your little ones to keep their eyes peeled for Santa landing. Look out for big designer brands including Ted Baker, Reiss, Kurt Geiger, and Kate Spade! If you're looking to tick those presents off your list, then this is the place to come, and with late opening hours, there's no rush. Of course, you'll be hungry after all that shopping, so sit back and relax in one of the centre's eateries including Zizzi, October, Il Pavone and Tinderbox, and you may even get to try some Scottish delicacies this festive season!
Argyll Arcade
Argyll Arcade is the oldest shopping arcade in Glasgow, so if you fancy a trip down a historic lane, then this is the Christmas shopping destination for you! This was also Scotland's first ever indoor shopping mall, so it's a special place to find some special presents this year. The arcade sits right in the heart of Buchanan Street, and is usually known as Glasgow's jewellery quarter. Here, you'll find a wide selection of diamond rings, jewellery and luxury watches, so if you're looking for an elegant gift with a taste of luxury this Christmas, you'll find it here! With more than 30 specialised retailers under one roof, you can easily treat yourself this Christmas or surprise a loved one. When you need a rest, head to Sloans bar, which is Glasgow's oldest bar and arguably most impressive, for a drink and bite to eat.
The Italian Centre
The Italian Centre is the perfect place to get started on your Christmas shopping with a great collection of Italian designer stores and some wonderful fancy cafes! It's even home to the UK's first Versace and Emporio Armani stores, so you can rest assured that you'll be amongst luxury here. With big names like Jaeger as well as smaller independent stores, there's more than enough here for you to find those special Christmas presents! When you're ready to relax, head to one of the cafes in the centre to rest and refuel with some tasty Italian food and drinks.
De Courcy's Arcade
If you're looking for somewhere a little quieter to do your Christmas shopping this year, then De Courcy's Arcade could be the place for you! If you find the main shopping streets a little chaotic, then you'll find this one much more relaxed. Here, you'll find crafts shops, boutiques, art shops, clothing and homewares, so whoever you're buying for, you're sure to find them something great here! There's also a sweet little tearoom for you to relax in once you've had enough of shopping, so fill yourself up with some sandwiches and warm drinks ready to head back out again.
Merchant Square
Merchant Square shopping centre is based in the east of George Square. Though busier than De Courcy's Arcade, it is known for being a relaxed shopping area with lots going on! As it's indoors, you'll be kept nice and warm as you wander in and out of shops looking to tick gifts off of your shopping list. With exclusive and unique stores giving you the chance to pick up some great gifts, whoever you're buying for, we're sure you'll find them something great here. There's also plenty of places to stop off for a bite to eat at Beer Cafe, Bar Soba, Metropolitan or Marmalade Skies!
