Edinburgh's Christmas Market
If you're heading to Edinburgh to do some Christmas shopping, the Christmas market should definitely be on your list of places to stop by! We'll have all the details for you later on in the year, so make sure to check back with us then!
Princes Street
If you're looking for somewhere to do your Christmas shopping that also gives you a wonderful view, then Princes Street is just the place for you! You'll be right on the street overlooking the beautiful ancient castle of Edinburgh and seeing the Old Town too. This is a unique area as it only has shops along one side of the street, allowing for those amazing views on the other side. Along here, you'll find large department stores selling a whole range of goods perfect for gifting, as well as smaller international brands where you may find something more unique! The Christmas market also stretches along here, so you'll be spoilt for choice.
George Street
George Street is known for being more of an elegant shopping street, and runs parallel to Princes Street. It's also one of the largest streets in Edinburgh with wide lanes and lots of architecture for you to admire! You'll find classy and trendy brands here such as AllSaints, Hollister, Jack Wills and Karen Millen, which is ideal if you've got a fashion loving friend you need to find a Christmas gift for. Once you've finished the shopping or you just need to take a break, you can relax in one of the popular bars or restaurants in the area, including All Bar One, Tiger Lily and Jamie's Italian!
Multrees Walk
If you're after a taste of luxury or are gift shopping for someone who enjoys the finer things in life, then Multrees Walk is the perfect area for you. It provides the most luxurious shopping experience, and is home to some of the only big designer brands in Scotland! Located off of St Andrew Square, here you'll find Scotland's only Harvey Nichols and Louis Vuitton, as well as Burberry and Tommy Hilfiger, so you're sure to find the best Christmas presents for your loved ones here. Stores also normally introduce special Christmas events at this time of year, so keep your eyes peeled!
The Royal Mile
Along the Royal Mile, you'll be right in the heart of the Old Town, and in an area that's famous for yarn and whiskey! It's typically known as one of the best areas for finding gifts, especially traditional Scottish ones. With plenty of whiskey shops, you'll be able to taste test it yourself before they wrap it up for your loved one, and then pay the Scotch Whiskey Experience a visit! There's also Edinburgh Fudge Kitchen for those with a sweet tooth, and Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe, so you're sure to find some amazing presents here. We hear there's also normally a street performer or two...
St James Quarter
St James Quarter is Edinburgh's newest shopping experience and has only been open just over a year now, but it has quickly become one of the most popular places to shop in Edinburgh. The four storey shopping centre has everything you could possibly need under one roof, including & Other Stories, Calvin Klein, Crew Clothing Company and Pull & Bear, perfect for those fashionable gifts! There's also plenty of food outlets to refuel in, including Wingstop, Tortilla, Starbucks and Salerno Pizza. There's even aparthotels you can stay in to turn your Christmas shopping into a Christmas break! From short to long stays, you'll be provided with luxurious accommodation right in the city centre.
The West End
Enjoy a stroll down the cobbled streets of Edinburgh's West End village, and you're sure to find some great shopping opportunities. With only a few minutes walk from Princes Street, you will discover a wide range of designer fashion boutiques, gift shops and stunning interior! Whoever you're shopping for, and whatever gifts you're looking for, you're sure to find some hidden gems in this part of Edinburgh. Keep a look out for Gallery Ten and Frontiers, as well as Lily Luna and Liam Ross Jewellery, for all those fashion and jewellery gifts! Once the shopping is done, relax in Roots Deli, Bross Bagels or Maialino Deli & Cafe.
Livingston Designer Outlet
Now technically, Livingston Designer Outlet is not in Edinburgh, but it is less than an hour's drive away and is Scotland's largest designer outlet so we think it's worth mentioning! They have something to suit every taste, so whoever you're searching for a perfect gift for, you're sure to find it here. With up to 60% off RRP, you might as well treat yourselves to a little something whilst you're there! Expect big brands and high street stores like Lacoste, Tommy Hilfiger, M&S and Next. Plus, there's a cinema if you fancy a break from the shopping, and to recharge you can relax in Costa Coffee, Pizza Express, Prezzo and Wetherspoons!
